Netflix’s Horror Movie ‘Things Heard And Seen’ Is Dividing The Internet

It’s always exciting to see how audiences interpret a newly released movie. And horror movies are perhaps the most divisive of all. As such, Netflix’s newly released horror movie Things Heard & Seen is dividing the Internet with its arrival on the streaming platform. The movie, based on Elizabeth Brundage’s novel All Things Cease to Appear, was both written and directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini.

As you can see below, responses to the film have been rather mixed. While some individuals were at first hooked on the movie’s storyline, certain unrealistic actions made by the characters seemed to make the story less believable.

Meanwhile, others were outright overwhelmed by the movie and some users are even calling for Netflix to put a “content/trigger warning” on the movie for eating disorders. And one user even felt the movie was nothing but a chance to “watch men brutalize women with nothing but a deeply messy metaphorical consequence.”

And others just outright did not understand the movie.

Of course, some people seemed to have enjoyed the confusion – and many have suggested the film is worth watching. And, as mentioned above, others just feel it isn’t worth the time. The reactions are definitely interesting, however, and it’ll be worth seeing how the horror film is interpreted further as time goes on.

As for the plot of the newly released horror movie…

“An artist relocates to the Hudson Valley and begins to suspect that her marriage has a sinister darkness, one that rivals her new home’s history.”

It seems the film has been receiving just as many mixed reviews critically, with critics claiming the film just didn’t work as well as it should have. And some have even stated it doesn’t quite capture its much more haunting source material. But, again, perhaps with time Things Heard & Seen will be reevaluated in the future.
