Fans have been eager to see footage from Netflix’s upcoming live-action series titled Wednesday. The new show will be inspired by the vast works of The Addams Family, albeit with some new twists courtesy of director Tim Burton. This is especially evident in the new teaser revealed for the upcoming Wednesday series.
The teaser emphasized the importance of June 6, which brings us today, in which you can see the brand-new first teaser trailer for Wednesday.
Here it is below:
Netflix first teased the new Wednesday teaser in the below video, which featured a newly-designed version of Thing. As fans of the franchise know, Thing is the beloved disembodied hand that miraculously moves around the Addams Family mansion. While Thing still looks mostly the same in this new Wednesday series, it appears that his design has now become adorned with stitches. It’s a new change but one that is rather fitting for the franchise.
As you can see below, they shared the video on the @WednesdayAddams Twitter account with the following caption, “Enjoy this marketing ploy.”

It’s definitely an exciting new look at the upcoming series. There’s a lot of hype for the show – especially considering how long fans have waited for another live-action Addams Family adaptation. With Tim Burton in the director’s chair, however, this will definitely have been more than worth the wait. Hopefully we’ll have more looks at the new series soon. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on Wednesday as we have them. Until then, this new teaser should hold us over.
The cast for the series includes Jenna Ortega as the titular Wednesday Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams. Christina Ricci also has a role in the show. Tim Burton directed the series while Alfred Gough and Miles Millar were attached as writers and showrunners.
