The Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown into quite the franchise since Iron Man first launched the shared universe in 2008. We’ve seen a number of additional major franchises born, epic crossovers, and surprising twists along the way. And, as one might imagine, it’s all far from being over. In fact, it’s being rumored that Avengers: Secret Wars will actually bring back Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark aka Iron Man.
Of course, this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt. But we’ve already seen some incredible things occur within the MCU thanks to the addition of the Multiverse. And, given that some of these things were rumored beforehand, there’s certainly the possibility. This possibility was reported by scooper @MyTimeToShineH on Twitter. One fan asked whether or not Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark/Iron Man would be appearing in both Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. They stated that he would only be appearing in one of these films, however – the aforementioned Secret Wars.

And, regarding the Stark bloodline, the scooper also suggests that Tony’s daughter Morgan Stark will also be returning. Of course, they couldn’t give away any specifics, but they claim that it will be the adult version of the character and it’ll be “a big way” however it happens. So, while these reports should be taken with a grain of salt, it certainly suggests that big things are happening in the MCU.

It’s been stated that Michael Waldron is writing the screenplay for Avengers: Secret Wars. A director has yet to be attached. We’ll have more news on those fronts in the coming years as its release date approaches.
