There are quite a few iconic elements to Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, the iconic novel which spawned several film adaptations. One element from the 1989 Pet Sematary film – the massive red truck that runs over Gage Creed – actually still exists in Maine. It’s certainly a haunting sight for anyone who’s familiar with this specific iteration of the horrifying story.
As pointed out via Reddit user MoxieSauce, the truck is currently located in Princeton, Maine. There exists in the town a piece of property owned by Murray Laplant & Sons Inc. As it just so happens, it’s this area that the truck is parked on. Previously, the Murray Laplant & Sons Inc. company used the truck to haul timber – with the occasional show appearance for Stephen King fans to see the iconic vehicle. They even considered selling the vehicle before making the decision to keep the truck parked on their property.

It’s certainly great to see that the truck still exists. Furthermore, it’s fitting that it also has a spot in Maine, where the original film was shot and where the novel was written to have taken place. And while it’s unknown what will become of the truck or its resting place, at least we know the Pet Sematary brand is far from gone. Stephen King’s original novel was adapted again in 2019 as a brand-new iteration of the iconic story. And, despite some changes to the source material, it was well-received by plenty of fans. So much so, in fact, that Paramount is currently working on a prequel film for Paramount Plus.
