Surprising New Film Becomes Number One Horror Movie On Netflix

With the week of October 24, it appears that a brand-new horror film managed to break into the Top 10 movies on Netflix. This particular horror film, titled The Chalk Line (and also known as Jaula), managed to reach the number 5 spot for the most watched movie of the week. With the film having been a mostly unknown addition to the streaming service, it’s certainly an impressive feat.

It isn’t often that horror fans gravitate to Netflix for their horror needs. After all, with so many other competing streaming services, it can often be too easy to watch something on Shudder or even Tubi instead. But Netflix appears to have struck gold with The Chalk Line, and as such, it’s a great moment for everyone involved with the movie’s production and getting it to this point.

Here’s the basic plot of the film (and the trailer) which involves the inclusion of a young girl discovered under eerie circumstances:

“A couple temporarily adopts a young girl that they found wandering around alone in the high road.”

Without giving away too much about the film, it’s a great Spanish-language horror picture that deserves to be seen. And, given how many people have viewed it already, it’s possible that you’ve already given it a shot. Otherwise, it’s definitely worth the look if you’re still looking for something spooky post-Halloween. Be sure to sound off in the comments section below your own thoughts on The Chalk Line.

The Chalk Line was directed by Ignacio Tatay from a screenplay written by Isabel Peña and Tatay.

The cast for the film includes Elena Anaya, Pablo Molinero, Carlos Santos, Eva Llorach, Esther Acebo, Eloy Azorín, Eva Tennear, Mona Martínez, and Sonia Almarcha.

Viewers can currently stream the new horror film The Chalk Line on Netflix. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on what’s new at Netflix and other horror genre news as we have it.
