It’s always exciting when a known actor takes on a role that requires a complete transformation. As such, fans are anxious to see Zac Efron in the upcoming wrestling film The Iron Claw. In the film, Zac Efron will transform into real-life wrestler Kevin Von Erich. And, as you can see below, the actor has become totally unrecognizable in his effort to look the part.
As noted in the caption by Ross and Marshall Von Erich, they’re both “excited about this new project on our family and it really looks like @zacefron is taking this role seriously.”
They further added that they’re “very pumped to watch #TheIronClaw.”

Ross and Marshall Von Erich happen to be the children of Kevin Von Erich, so it’s very fitting that they approve of Zac Efron’s transformation for the film. Indeed, with his bulging muscles on display, Zac Efron is a clear doppelganger for Kevin Von Erich in the upcoming wrestling flick. Hopefully we’ll have additional looks at The Iron Claw soon. As for now, however, seeing Efron tackle the role and look the part is certainly an exciting glimpse at what’s to come. This film certainly won’t disappoint any fans of the beloved wrestler.
Sean Durkin both wrote and directed The Iron Claw. The film is being financed and produced by A24 alongside Tessa Ross, Derrin Schlesinger, and Harrison Huffman. It’s being developed by House Productions in association with Access Entertainment and BBC Films.
The Iron Claw does not yet have a release date attached. Of course, as the promotional campaign for the film continues, we should have that information soon.
