Netflix has once again brought an unexpected film to the surface. It appears that a thriller from 2020 is breaking records on Netflix.
As of this writing, a little movie called Inheritance has earned the #2 spot on the Global Top 10 List. That’s a pretty impressive feat for a movie that initially received negative reviews from critics.
This time, however, viewers are responding quite positively to the film. It seems like word-of-mouth has given Inheritance a new opportunity to reach audiences on the streaming service. As you can see below, users have shared their thoughts on social media platforms like Twitter.

Many film fans have argued in the past that streaming is making it difficult for a movie to get attention. After all, with so many platforms competing with one another, there certainly are some movies getting viewed less than others. But streaming has also given so many other films – just like Inheritance – another chance to surprise viewers.
Here’s a brief synopsis for the film if you’re not already sold:
“A patriarch of a wealthy and powerful family suddenly passes away, leaving his wife and daughter with a shocking secret inheritance that threatens to unravel and destroy their lives.”
Of course, given the nature of the film, it’s also best to just go in blind. After all, so many other users have been stunned by the film’s twists and turns.
Inheritance was directed by Vaughn Stein from a screenplay penned by Matthew Kennedy.
The cast for the film includes Lily Collins, Simon Pegg, Connie Nielsen, Chace Crawford, Michael Beach, Marque Richardson, and Patrick Warburton. Rebecca Adams, Mariyah Francis, Joe Herrera, Lucas Alexander Ayoub, and Christina DeRosa also star in the film.
Audiences can currently stream Inheritance via Netflix and experience the mind-breaking thriller for themselves. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional news regarding Netflix’s newest hits as we have them.
