Actor Will Smith shocked celebrities and viewers alike at the 2022 Oscars. The I Am Legend star slapped Oscars host Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about Smith’s wife. Now Will Smith has taken an opportunity to make a joke regarding the infamous Chris Rock slap.
The joke took shape as Will Smith posted a “duet” video on TikTok. The video urges users to ask an inanimate object what it might think of them. As revealed in the user’s caption:
“This works because everything has consciousness,” Sam Rossi writes. “You can pick up a pen and ask it how it sees you or what it thinks of you,” she explains, “and you will get an answer in your mind from your intuition. You can ask your car what it thinks of you, you can even ask money what it thinks of you.”
As a result, actor Will Smith made a very interesting response with his inanimate object of choice. Specifically, he chose his Academy Award for Best Actor, which was given to him during the 2022 Oscars. However, Will Smith only takes the time to look at the trophy, with the video cutting off before he can ask any questions.
Of course, both Will Smith and Chris Rock are said to have worked things out after the shocking Oscars slap. So, with that in mind, perhaps it isn’t too shocking to see Will Smith make a joke out of it. The actor appears to be moving ahead with his career altogether, despite being banned from the ceremony for the following ten years. Likewise, Chris Rock has already mentioned the incident a few times at his stand-up routines, so it’s interesting to see how things will continue going for the two.
Will Smith initially chose to slap Chris Rock after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair. The appearance of her hair was due to her struggle with alopecia, however, so Smith was noticeably triggered by Rock’s comments. He famously stated the following:
“Keep my wife’s name out of your f-king mouth.”
