Netflix Under Fire For Mocking Subscribers

It seemingly doesn’t take much for Netflix to start facing backlash on social media. Now they appear to have upset subscribers for an all-new reason. Subscribers are upset that Netflix shared a social media post which complained about users who ask for cancelled shows to be brought back.

It’s not a surprise to say that Netflix has cancelled quite a few shows in recent years. Many of which were considered fan-favorite hits. Nevertheless, the streaming platform is adamant about removing what they think is not working. And subscribers have had no say in the matter. Which, to a point is fine, but many subscribers drew a fine line after Netflix criticized fans for being upset that their favorite shows were cancelled.

Netflix shared the following post from Taco Bell on Instagram:

It didn’t take long for subscribers to take notice. As you can see below, numerous Twitter posts sprouted as a result, with more than 18,000 posts having appeared in the first two hours. This resulted in the viral phrase “WHAT THE HELL NETFLIX” that you’ll see featured below:

It’s unknown if Netflix will attempt to rectify the situation. After all, they were merely trying to create publicity on social media. But it certainly seems to have rubbed many fans the wrong way. Especially after they’ve decided to cancel the series Warrior Nun, a show which many fans have been eagerly trying to save. Unfortunately, much like other cancelled shows that include GLOW, I Am Not Okay With This, The Society, and Spinning Out, in addition to The Midnight Club, 1899, and Altered Carbon, fans might just be out of luck.

Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates on Netflix as we have them. For now, it remains to be seen how Netflix plans to win back the support of its subscribers – if at all.
