Fans are hoping to see quite a few cameos in the upcoming MCU movie Deadpool 3, including the return of several fan-favorite characters. Now one report suggests that an important Marvel character from the X-Men film franchise could be appearing in Deadpool 3.
According to insider @CanWeGetToast, one of the stars of Hugh Jackman‘s swansong Logan – Dafne Keen – entered negotiations to return before the SAG-AFTRA strikes put a halt to their talks. Nevertheless, it seems likely that Keen could still appear as her character for a cameo once the strikes come to an end.
Dafne Keen played the character X-23, a female clone of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and became one of the most acclaimed aspects from the film. In fact, fans have been eager for her to get another opportunity to play the role. And while her appearance in Deadpool 3 will likely only be for a small cameo – it certainly opens up the doorway for her X-Men character to return in the MCU.

“Sources have newly confirmed that Marvel went into negotiations with Dafne Keen right before the strikes started to bring her back as a grown up Laura Kinney/X23 in Deadpool 3.
“They anticipated the strikes and are hoping schedules line up once the studios pay actors and writers fairly. Which lines up with Shawn Levy saying Deadpool 3 was halfway through filming. It’s not a significant role, expect it more to be a cameo.”

It’d certainly be nice to see Dafne Keen come back as X-23. After all, Fox had plans for the character prior to Disney’s acquisition of the company. Hopefully we’ll see some of those plans come to fruition, then, if not in one form then another.
Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 from a screenplay written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux previously worked on the film’s screenplay.
The upcoming Marvel movie stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna, in addition to returning cast members Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapicic and Rob Delaney. Newcomers include Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen.
