Deadpool 3 is shaping up to be one of the MCU‘s most exciting upcoming movies. Especially with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman teaming up as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively. According to a new report, however, Deadpool 3 could be even more important as a direct stepping stone to Avengers: Secret Wars.
This news was shared by KC Walsh on X. According to the rumor, Deadpool 3 reveals that realities across the Multiverse are collapsing. The TVA then decides to choose different superheroes from these different dying worlds so that they can be brought to one singular world.
Naturally, this singular world is none other than what becomes “New Earth/Battleworld.” One of the chosen superheroes additionally turns out to be Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine from the Fox Universe. He later finds an imprisoned Deadpool and they do their best to save Wolverine’s “dying universe and friends.”

It’s certainly an exciting plot, albeit unconfirmed at this time. Hopefully we’ll have more concrete details released soon. But it would certainly make sense and be a great way to set up the events of Avengers: Secret Wars. Especially as the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally making its way to the conclusion of its Multiverse Saga.
Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 from a screenplay written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux previously worked on the film’s screenplay.
The upcoming Marvel movie stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna, in addition to returning cast members Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapicic and Rob Delaney. Newcomers include Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen.
