‘The Exorcist: Believer’ Second Trailer Is Full Of Terror

The first trailer for The Exorcist: Believer teased what will perhaps be the closest sequel to the original classic yet. Now the second trailer for The Exorcist: Believer raises the scares and promises a genuinely chilling time at the theater.

The film’s director, David Gordon Green, previously helped 2018’s Halloween and its two follow-ups. Of course, the Halloween franchise is a slasher property, and one that Green fittingly portrayed as popcorn entertainment. For The Exorcist: Believer, however, it’s clear that this film will be a more suspenseful and faith-centered sequel. Which, being that this is based on The Exorcist, seems like a perfect fit for a new film all these years later.

Fortunately, fans also won’t have to wait long to see the film. The film’s release date has been moved from October 13, 2023 to October 6, in an effort to avoid competition with Taylor Swift‘s upcoming Eras Tour movie. So while there is new footage in the trailer below – there’s only about a month before the full movie will be available in cinemas. What a time to be a fan.

Here’s the second official trailer for The Exorcist: Believer:

David Gordon Green directed the film from a screenplay he penned alongside Peter Sattler. The story was created by Scott Teems, Danny McBride, and Green. In addition to Ellen Burstyn, the cast includes Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, Lidya Jewett, Jennifer Nettles, Olivia Marcum, Raphael Sbarge, and Okwui Okpokwasili.

Fans will be able to see The Exorcist: Believer in theaters on October 6, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Exorcist franchise updates as we have them. For now, this new trailer definitely delivers the goods and it’ll be exciting to see what other secrets are in store. Especially with two additional sequels in the works. In fact, the next film in Universal‘s trilogy is said to be titled The Exorcist: Deceiver.
