‘The Marvels’ Reportedly Removed A Major Celebrity Cameo

The upcoming MCU movie The Marvels is already uniting the likes of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau. According to a new report, however, a major celebrity cameo could have also occurred in The Marvels.

The report comes from insider @MyTimeToShineH on X. According to their tweet, the character would have had a big role before dying “at the end of the first act.” Though this “was scrapped.” As for which actors were being considered for the role? It turns out Clive Owen and George Clooney were being eyed for the part.

Here’s what was shared about the cut cameo from The Marvels:

This is certainly an interesting development. Unfortunately, we don’t know which character the two actors were being eyed for. However, many fans suspect that the removed character would have actually been Nova. And while it would’ve been great to have seen Nova in the film, there are certainly better uses for the character.

In fact, assuming it would’ve been the Richard Rider version of the character, the older Nova could have appeared in their own dedicated project. This would better suit passing the torch to the younger Nova, Sam Alexander. But this is speculation at this point – and we’ll have to see what plans Marvel might have up their sleeve.

The upcoming MCU blockbuster The Marvels was directed by Candyman director Nia DaCosta from a script written by Megan McDonnell.

The cast for the highly-anticipated film includes Brie Larson as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau. Samuel L. Jackson also reprises his role as Nick Fury for the movie.

The Marvels is set to hit theaters everywhere on November 10, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional MCU news as we have it. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates on The Marvels as we have them.
