Tom Hardy Surprises Fans With Incredibly Strange Accent For New Movie

Actor Tom Hardy is set to appear in the upcoming 20th Century Studios movie The Bikeriders. The new movie revolves around a 1960s motorcycle club. Interestingly, however, fans are struggling to decipher the new accent chosen by Tom Hardy.

The accent can be heard in the film’s newly-released trailer. Interestingly, the film is apparently set in the Midwest, so it doesn’t quite fit the accent that Hardy’s trying to achieve. Some viewers of the trailer even believe that Hardy is creating some kind of “cockney Russian American” accent or even one “that has never existed before.”

Here are some of the comments shared by users on X as they attempt to determine the source of Tom Hardy’s accent:

Nevertheless, despite the uncertainty for the Mad Max star’s accent, viewers are still expressing their excitement for the upcoming film. Hopefully it still manages to live up to expectations, then, even if the accent isn’t exactly winning everyone over. On the bright side, Hardy is still a fan-favorite otherwise, and there are plenty of other exciting cast members involved with the project.

The plot of the film will follow a number of Midwestern characters that form a motorcycle club. Throughout the course of the story, however, the club transitions from a place for outsiders to a more dangerous gang. And based on the success of the novel it’s based upon, it should be great seeing the film on the big screen.

Jeff Nichols both wrote and directed the film. The screenplay is based on the novel of the same name by Danny Lyon. In addition to Tom Hardy, the film stars Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, Michael Shannon, Mike Faist, and Norman Reedus.

The Bikeriders is scheduled to hit theaters on December 1, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates on Tom Hardy and his upcoming film The Bikeriders as we have them.
