‘Wednesday’ Star Reportedly Removed From Series Over Sexual Assault Allegations

The Netflix series Wednesday, based on the titular character from The Addams Family, became one of the streaming platform’s most successful shows in recent years. Unfortunately, due to allegations of sexual assault, it looks like one of the main stars of Wednesday has been reportedly removed.

This new report comes from Daily Mail UK. According to their report, 22-year-old actor Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier Thorpe in the hit series, was “written out of the Netflix smash hit Wednesday.”

The report continues to add that this comes “nine months after he was accused of assaulting a woman at a party in Toronto.” Their source is said to be someone “close to his family, who split their time between homes in Toronto and Newfoundland.”

The allegations first surfaced in a tweet that has now been deleted. It was posted on January 18 by an anonymous social media user. The Wednesday actor has since denied the sexual assault allegations. Other sources are said to have defended Percy against the statements.

According to the initial allegations, the anonymous woman was sexually assaulted by Percy Hynes White when he was hosting a party. Additionally, he was accused of intending to get women drunk enough at said party to have sex with him.

Netflix currently claims that due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, they have not yet started to cast the next season of the series. As such, we’ll have to see how the series continues to proceed as production inevitably begins.

Interestingly, not only has his family supported his claims, but even star Jenna Ortega stood up for Percy Hynes White, and other reports claim that he’ll continue to find work in the industry given his “character and talent.”

Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Wednesday updates and any other details on Percy Hynes White’s case as we have them.
