‘Morbius’ Early Screenings Are Getting Bad Reviews

Morbius is set to hit theaters next week and will be the first Marvel character in the Sony Universe to get their own solo movie since Venom. While Venom and its sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage didn’t get great reviews, they were still looked at as fun movies and made a lot of money at the box office – and even saw the title character cross over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man films via two post-credit scenes. If the early reactions of Morbius are any indication, it doesn’t sound like we can expect to see this title character in the MCU any time soon.

Last week, there was a tweet that was sent out that stated several journalists saw the Jared Leto starring film and were very disappointed with it and that fans wanting to see it in the theater should just wait until its home release. It’s fair to point out that sometimes critics can hate a film – while fans can love it. It happens quite a bit with comic book movies. As you can see from the reviews below, the people who saw the film didn’t enjoy it:

So there you have it. Bad reviews weren’t enough to stop fans from seeing Venom in the theater back in 2018 – but Morbius isn’t as big of a character, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens, as there still seems to be a pretty decent amount of hype about this movie.

Morbius is set to hit theaters on April 1st.
