This new movie, as revealed by Variety, will be titled Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial. Furthermore, those interested in the film will be happy to know it’ll be an exclusive on Tubi. For anyone unfamiliar, Tubi is a free streaming service that allows you to watch all of its content with only the occasional ad break. We also know who will lead the cast of the film. It’s been revealed that actor Mark Hapka has been cast as Johnny Depp. Meanwhile, Megan Davis has been cast to portray Amber Heard. Melissa Marty will play the role of Johnny Depp’s layer, Camille Vasquez, while Amber Heard’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft will be played by Mary Carrig.
The narrative of the film is said to follow “the tumultuous relationship – in and out of court – of Depp and Heard, dramatizing the two-month defamation trial that concluded June 1, with the jury finding that Heard had defamed Depp by alluding to domestic violence allegations against him in a December 2018 op-ed piece.” They also noted that the court’s “jury also held Depp liable for a defamatory statement made about Heard by his lawyer.”
