Fans Roast New ‘Titanic’ Poster Over Kate Winslet’s Hair

James Cameron’s 1997 film Titanic has been remastered in 4K for a brand-new theatrical re-release. This time, however, a new Titanic poster to advertise the re-release has fans really confused.

As you can see below, fans have even started roasting the new Titanic poster on Twitter. But what could be so bad about it? Well, it has something to do with Kate Winslet’s hair.

Unfortunately, the decision for what the poster artist did with Winslet’s hair is unclear. But it appears that Kate Winslet’s character is sporting two different hairstyles in the artwork. One can only assume that each hairstyle was taken from a different part of the James Cameron film.

Here’s the poster:

The left side of her hair is done up in curls in a rather fanciful way. On the right side, however, her hair is down like in the sequence when she posed for Jack and later when the ship sank. In any case, it creates a rather disorienting image. As you can see from some of the reactions below, fans are rather confused:

Of course, other fans suspect that there could be some deeper artistic meaning behind the two hairstyles:

Overall, the reason for this design is unclear. It’s also unknown if Paramount might alter the image due to the negative responses. Ultimately, it goes to show that sometimes the original poster artwork is still the best choice.

The 1997 film Titanic was written and directed by James Cameron.

In addition to Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, the film also starred Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, Frances Fisher, Gloria Stuart, Bernard Hill, Jonathan Hyde, Victor Garber, and Bill Paxton.

Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any further news on James Cameron’s filmography as we have it. With several other Avatar sequels apparently on the way – there will certainly be many more updates on that front in the near future.
