Disney Facing Boycott Over Gender-Fluid Clothing Ad

some are calling for a boycott of Disney over an all-new clothing video which features a gender-fluid model. As you can see below, Seann Altman stars in the promotional ad, and uses it to dress like Minnie Mouse.

The video, which was shared on the Disney Style TikTok account, features Altman in a red dress. He discusses his outfit in the video and how it’s directly inspired by Minnie’s appearance:

“I literally look like Minnie Mouse, and I fit in perfectly with Mickey and his friends,” Altman says. “The bow, with the dress, and the shoes really sealed the deal. Now I’m fashionable, bold, and fun, just like Minnie Mouse!”

Here’s the gender-fluid clothing ad from Disney:

Of course, conservatives are disappointed with the gender-fluid approach of the ad. In fact, they’re calling for a boycott in an effort to “CANCEL THE MOUSE!” over the ad. Here are some of the tweets that have been shared from some users in an effort to have Disney boycotted for their decision:

This is far from the most recent backlash against Disney, however, as the studio has faced such responses in the past. The company has made it clear that they hope to appeal to a more diverse audience. And in their effort to do so, they’ve introduced more diverse cast members into their new films and shows, with even their upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs being controversially changed. Now it looks like they’re eager to do the same for their fashion brands.

On that note, it seems like Disney has suffered several underperformances at the box office. This includes both Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Haunted Mansion. Other Disney Plus shows, like Secret Invasion, have been met with mixed or negative reviews. So we’ll have to see if this has any impact on how the company reacts moving forward.
