Peter Dinklage Becomes ‘The Toxic Avenger’ In First Look At New Remake

One of the most notorious cult films of the 1980’s is receiving a remake with the upcoming movie The Toxic Avenger. Indeed, New Jersey’s very own creature of superhuman size and strength is making a comeback. Excitingly enough, Peter Dinklage stars in The Toxic Avenger as the titular character, and the first look at the film has been shared below.

Macon Blair directed the remake which will take the concept in an all-new direction. Though the original Toxie was named Melvin Ferd Junko III, as played by Mitch Cohen, the new version played by Dinklage is Winston Gooze. This was revealed by Fantastic Fest where the film will be having its 2023 premiere:

“A horrible toxic accident transforms downtrodden janitor Winston Gooze into a new evolution of hero: THE TOXIC AVENGER!”

Now here’s the first look at Peter Dinklage as Winston Gooze in the film in addition to some teaser artwork:

Fans of the original cult franchise, which is known for its signature brand of Troma humor, won’t have to worry about the remake losing any of the brand’s trademarks. The movie will be a “hard R” with all of the gore and violence that the franchise has become known for over the years. There have been plenty of attempts in the past at reviving the brand in Hollywood.

But with this new iteration being the version that finally got made – it’s clear that there’s a good reason why. With the director of I Don’t Feel At Home in This World Anymore behind the project, and Peter Dinklage in the titular role, this’ll certainly be a film worth looking out for.

In addition to Peter Dinklage, the cast of The Toxic Avenger includes Elijah Wood, Julia Davis, Taylour Paige, Kevin Bacon, and Jacob Tremblay.
