Shocking Murder Documentary Reaches Number One On Netflix

Netflix has become widely-recognized for its selection of true crime and murder documentaries which include Dahmer starring Evan Peters. Now the streaming platform has a brand-new murder documentary that’s reached the number one spot in the Netflix “Non-English” category.

As shared via the Tudum section of Netflix’s website, A Life Too Short: The Isabella Nardoni Case has reached the Number 1 spot. And with its one week in the Top 10 section, the documentary has 9,900,000 hours viewed for a total of 5,700,000 views.

The documentary itself revolves around a 2008 murder case that shocked Brazil. Ultimately, the event led to the death of a 5-year-old girl, which the synopsis describes as having been “thrown through the window of her father and stepmother’s apartment.”

Here’s the full synopsis provided by Netflix for the murder documentary:

“In 2008, the Isabella Nardoni case stopped Brazil. The 5-year-old girl was thrown through the window of her father and stepmother’s apartment in São Paulo. Between the crime and the conviction there are little known details. While the population, the media, and even the authorities demanded a quick and exemplary solution, the forensic team worked to find material that told what happened. How did this happen? What evidence attested to the guilt of the Nardoni couple? What made the police rule out any other hypothesis? Get to know the story, for the first time, through the eyes of Isabella’s mother, Ana Carolina Oliveira, and her grandparents, in addition to the divergent versions between defense lawyers, journalists, and experts about the crime that moved the country.”

As described, the documentary tells various different perspectives in the case, both from those involved and various officials with different theories on the matter. It’s worth noting that Isabella’s father, Alexandre, and her stepmother Anna Carolina, have each denied their involvement with Isabella’s death. Furthermore, the two are each serving prison sentences and have refused to participate in the creation of the documentary.

Cláudio Manoel and Micael Langer directed the documentary which has a total of 104 minutes.
