‘Talk To Me’ Sequel ‘Talk 2 Me’ Is Happening With Original Directors Returning

A24’s Talk to Me has been a horror movie success with both moviegoers and critics. Naturally, a sequel has now been announced, with the title Talk 2 Me.

As revealed by Deadline, directors Danny and Michael Philippou will return to helm the sequel for A24. The film is also going to be written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman. Of course, it might not be too surprising, because Danny Philippou previously hinted that a sequel could be in the cards.

As he explained previously, he couldn’t help “but start writing other scenes, scenes of different people experiencing the hands, continuing on these characters’ story. So, there’s scenes for a sequel, yeah.”

It seems likely that they already have plenty of material set aside for a continuation. This should no doubt make fans of the film happy. Although Talk to Me is a perfectly fine stand-alone story, the opportunities for world-building are limitless, and it would be great to see what a sequel has to offer.

For those who haven’t seen Talk to Me, the film follows a group of teenagers that begin to use an embalmed hand to contact spirits. Of course, things don’t go as planned, and everything begins to go too far. It’s a subtle but exciting concept, one that innovates the “Ouija board” subgenre, and puts things in a wild new direction. Hopefully a sequel can offer the same kind of twists and turns that fans of Talk to Me no doubt expect.

The first film offers a great cast that includes Sophie Wilde, Alexandra Jensen, Joe Bird, Otis Dhanji, Miranda Otto, Zoe Terakes, Chris Alosio, Marcus Johnson, and Alexandria Steffensen.
