Disney Just Removed New Marvel Series From Release Schedule

A number of changes at Marvel Studios, in addition to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, have led to a number of delays for Disney. Now it looks like they’ve decided to remove one highly-anticipated Marvel series from their release schedule altogether.

The fifth phase of the MCU was expected to have quite a few different shows released. One such example included the Disney Plus series Ironheart. Unfortunately, as revealed via THR, it looks like Ironheart no longer has a release date on Disney’s schedule.

The report notes that while the series was expected to “drop … this fall,” the ongoing strikes have changed that. In fact, it’s stated that “completing is affected by the strikes” even though it’s “finished shooting.” It’s clear, then, that Disney is indeed going to suffer from the ongoing Hollywood strikes and the MCU will be impacted as a result. Most, if not all, of their films and shows are tightly interconnected, and just one shakeup could be enough to throw off their entire lineup.

The series now joins two other Marvel shows that no longer have clear release dates. The other two shows are Daredevil: Born Again and Wonder Man. As noted: “It is unclear where on the calendar the three series will end up.” Though there are still other projects on the horizon.

Marvel has Loki Season 2 and What If…? Season 2 scheduled to be released later this year. Then, in January 2024, it’s expected that Echo will finally be released. This will be followed soon after by the animated series X-Men ’97. Finally, in fall 2024, it’s expected that Agatha: Darkhold Diaries will finally be released.

Of course, it’s difficult to determine if these release dates will hold. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them. In the meantime, fans can tune into Loki Season 2 this October.
