Godzilla Returns In First Trailer For ‘Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters’ Series

The first live-action Godzilla series, titled Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, is set to hit Apple TV Plus in just a few months. Now the first official teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated MonsterVerse spin-off has been released.

The series stars both Kurt Russell and his son, Wyatt Russell, as they both play Army officer Lee Shaw. The series will switch back and forth from storylines featuring Shaw that take place in both the 1950s and modern day. And, as the trailer reveals, it looks like the series will be using his character to fill in several gaps between the highly-acclaimed live-action films.

The plot for the series, which is set to include ten episodes, is as follows:

“Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch.

“Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.

“The dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.”
