‘Pet Sematary: Bloodlines’ First Trailer Released For Prequel Movie

Stephen King‘s iconic novel Pet Sematary is being brought to life on the screen yet again. This time, however, the latest iteration – titled Pet Sematary: Bloodlines – will explore the backstory of Jud Crandall in a setting that takes place in 1969. Now the first trailer reveals our first look at Jackson White as Jud and the gruesome events that are set to occur.

It’s worth noting that, much like all three of its predecessors, this new film will be rated “R” by the MPAA. The original 1989 film, its sequel from 1992, and the recent remake from 2019 all shared “R” ratings as well. Thus it’s already an exciting start to see that this prequel won’t be breaking said tradition.

Here’s the official trailer for Pet Sematary: Bloodlines:

Additionally, fans will be able to stream the film on Paramount Plus. It certainly makes it easier for horror fans eager to have their own horror marathons as they prepare for the Halloween season. Especially as this new film is part of Paramount Plus’s “Peak Screaming” collection which will feature a variety of fan-favorite horror films and shows.

Lindsey Anderson Beer directed the film from a screenplay she wrote with Jeff Buhler. The prequel is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian.

The cast of the film includes Jackson White, Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Henry Thomas, Natalie Alyn Lind, Isabella Star LaBlanc, Pam Grier, and David Duchovny.

The all-new prequel Pet Sematary: Bloodlines will be available to stream on October 6 via Paramount Plus. This includes the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Brazil. It will then be available on October 7 via all other Paramount Plus international markets.

Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional horror news as we have it. For now, this looks like an exciting take on the iconic tale and it’ll be interesting to see where this backstory takes viewers.
