Russell Brand Faces Rape And Sexual Assault Allegations

It’s been confirmed that comedian Russell Brand has been accused of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse. The various allegations surfaced in an episode of the documentary series Dispatches as uncovered in an investigation by The Sunday Times and Channel 4.

The episode of Dispatches, which is 90 minutes long, aired on September 16, 2023. A representative for the series revealed that as many as five women shared stories regarding Russell Brand. Here’s what the representative shared in their statement:

“Five women, four of whom asked to remain anonymous, agreed to share their stories of serious sexual allegations in the program,” the representative revealed.

Here’s a list Variety with some of the alleged incidents:

A 24-year-old runner claims Brand once “flashed his penis” when entering his dressing room and “insinuated that she could give him oral sex”

Brand’s former personal assistant, Helen Berger, told the newspaper she witnessed Brand showing “intimate pictures of women” to his friends, including a woman she knew

A female comedian claims Brand would repeatedly “bite my face” whenever she saw him

A male comedian, Daniel Slott, told the newspaper that he was aware of his female counterparts had been “warning each other about Russell” for years

One specific victim is said to have been assaulted when she was 16 and Brand was in his 30s. She claims to have been nicknamed “The Child” by Brand and that she would read Vladimir Nabokov’s novel “Lolita” to him. This was part of an “emotionally and sexually abusive” relationship that lasted three months.

A YouTube video was shared by Russell Brand where he denies all of the allegations. He “absolutely refutes” the claims which he calls a “litany of astonishing, rather baroque, attacks.”

“These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in mainstream media, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies. And as I’ve written about extensively in my books I was very, very promiscuous. Now during that time of promiscuity the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual. I was always transparent about that then – almost too transparent – and I’m bring transparent about it now as well.”
