It’s sadly been confirmed that Tom Sizemore is dead at age 61. This news comes after the actor was hospitalized following a brain aneurysm earlier in February.
Variety confirmed the news with the following statement from Sizemore’s agent, Charles Lago:
“It is with great sadness and sorrow I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (‘Tom Sizemore’) aged 61 passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph’s Hospital Burbank,” Lago said in a statement. “His brother Paul and twin boys Jayden and Jagger (17) were at his side.”
As noted via NY Post, Tom Sizemore was initially hospitalized for several weeks before he was confirmed dead, having been “in critical condition, in a coma and in intensive care.” It wasn’t long after that his family announced they were “deciding end-of-life matters.”
This was further elaborated by Sizemore’s manager Charles Lago:
“Today, doctors informed his family that there is no further hope and have recommended end of life decision. The family is now deciding end-of-life matters and a further statement will be issued on Wednesday,” he stated.
His statement continued:
“We are asking for privacy for his family during this difficult time and they wish to thank everyone for the hundreds of messages of support, and prayers that have been received. This has been a difficult time for them.”
It’s been stated that Tom Sizemore suffered a stroke on February 18 which led to his brain aneurysm. The actor was located at his Los Angeles home where an unnamed person found him unconscious around 2:00 AM. It’s certainly disappointing news for fans of the actor in addition to his friends and family.
He’s led quite a prominent career in film, television, and even video games. Tom Sizemore was known for having appeared in such films as Natural Born Killers, Saving Private Ryan, The Relic, Pearl Harbor, and Black Hawk Down. He also appeared in such television projects as Twin Peaks and Cobra Kai. One of his last projects included the film The Legend of Jack and Diane which was released in 2022. Though he was attached to several other upcoming projects. Their statuses remain unknown at the time of this writing.
Tom Sizemore is survived by his wife Janelle McIntire and their two children, Jagger and Jayden Sizemore.
