Andrew Garfield Reportedly Approached To Appear In ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is using many of its new movies and shows to set the stage for Avengers: Secret Wars. The highly-anticipated superhero event is set to adapt the comic book arc of the same name, in which numerous superheroes from across the Multiverse come together. Now in Kevin Feige’s attempt to do the same for live-action, it looks like he’s approached Andrew Garfield about appearing in Avengers: Secret Wars.

Fans will recognize Andrew Garfield for having played Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, in The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel. It was a role he would continue to reprise with a supporting role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he joined the MCU’s Peter Parker played by Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker from the first Spider-Man film trilogy.

Obviously fans were excited to have had both Garfield and Maguire return for Spider-Man: No Way Home. After all, it looked like their respective franchises and stories were over. With the Multiverse, however, anything is possible – and that makes the new rumor so tangible. Here’s what was shared about Andrew Garfield being approached for Avengers: Secret Wars via insider @CanWeGetToast on Twitter:

Of course, this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt. But his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home certainly proved that anything is possible. Either way, the film is still several years away from hitting theaters, and so it’ll be quite some time before more concrete details are provided. But this is an exciting start to the speculation that’s to come. Especially now that the Multiverse is being properly explored.

Avengers: Secret Wars is currently scheduled to be released on May 7, 2027. The film was originally scheduled to be released on May 1, 2026.
