Gwen Stacy’s popularity as a Marvel character has skyrocketed since her role in the animated Spider-Verse movies. Of course, many fans will recall that Emma Stone already played a live-action Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel. Now a new photo has fans convinced that Stone will return as the character in the near future.
It’s worth noting that Emma Stone’s iteration of Gwen Stacy died during the events of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Her death then continued to have an influence on Andrew Garfield‘s Peter Parker even during Spider-Man: No Way Home. Of course, with the recent interest in the Multiverse, it’s possible that Stone could appear as a new variant of Gwen Stacy. Perhaps even one that has already taken on her own superhero persona.
As you can see below, fans were convinced by an image of Emma Stone with a new haircut. The style of hair she has is almost a complete match for the hairstyle used by Gwen Stacy in the animated films. It’s hard not to make comparisons between the two, then, and assume that this could be her look as another live-action Gwen Stacy.

Of course, it’s unknown what potential project Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy could appear in. But there are plenty of upcoming films and possibly shows that will utilize the Multiverse in some form. So, whether it’s a project from Marvel or Sony, it seems like a return for Emma Stone is very possible. For fans of her iteration of the character, let’s hope it happens.
