Due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, production on Deadpool 3 has come to a halt. Previously, fans were excited to see both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on the movie’s set as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively. Now a rumored cast list includes a number of shocking Marvel characters that could potentially be in Deadpool 3.
The upcoming MCU movie is expected to bridge the gap between Fox’s X-Men universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Along the way, many cameos are expected, from both familiar faces and celebrity appearances. Now, as shared via DisInsider, it looks like the cast of Deadpool 3 could be much bigger than previously expected.
Here is the list of cast members rumored to have cameos in Deadpool 3:
“Brian Cox as William Striker, Halle Berry as Storm, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Famke Jensen as Jean Grey, Lewis Tan as Shatterstar, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Ben Affleck as Daredevil, Taylor Swift as Dazzler, Taron Egerton as a Wolverine variant, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Dafne Keen as Laura Howlett aka X23, Rebecca Romijn as Raven, Julian McMahon as Doctor Doom, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, and Ian McKellen as Magneto.”
The authenticity of the list ranges from some likely possibilities to other cameos that seem way out of left field. For example, there have already been reports that Ben Affleck was on the set of the film, while his Daredevil co-star Jennifer Garner was already confirmed to be reprising her role as Elektra. Similarly, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Patrick Stewart as Professor X, as we already saw him appear in the MCU as a variant in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Other rumored cast members, such as Taron Egerton and Taylor Swift, seem much less likely. But, being that this is Deadpool 3 and there are going to be some major surprises, perhaps we could expect such celebrities to play a part. We’ll just have to see what happens once production resumes and we get closer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie’s release date.
Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 from a screenplay written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux previously worked on the film’s screenplay.
The upcoming film stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna, in addition to returning cast members Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapicic and Rob Delaney. Newcomers include Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen.
