Star Wars Fan Points Out Major Errors In ‘Ahsoka’

The Star Wars franchise has evolved and grown so much from the days of the “original trilogy.” Now fans are enjoying the weekly releases for Ahsoka, the first two episodes of which premiered on August 22, 2023. Unfortunately, one fan spotted some major errors in the opening moments of the show’s first episode.

The series makes an attempt at creating an opening text crawl in the same style as those featured throughout the Skywalker Saga. In addition to having its own unique color scheme, however, there appear to have been a few grammatical errors. One fan has now pointed these errors out on X.

Here’s what he shared, noting that no one apparently “copy edited” the crawl’s text:

“No one copy edited the opening crawl to Ahsoka. Here we have a painful dangling modifier and a that/which mixup. ‘Once presumed dead,’ as written, refers to the rumors rather than Thrawn.”

It seems that this isn’t the only error, however, with the user commenting that he was “selective” after someone was “hung up on” the line ‘Thrawn’s return which would’.” And while the user does agree these can be interpreted as only “minor” errors, they are still “the first thing you see in a multi-million-dollar production.”

It’s certainly not the first time that mistakes have been spotted in a live-action Star Wars series from Disney Plus. Though with the franchise’s big return to using text crawls, it’s disappointing to see that no one apparently proofread it first. Hopefully additional care will be applied to any other text crawls in the future. Especially since they happen to be such an iconic franchise element.

Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Star Wars updates as we have them. For now, fans can tune into new episodes of Ahsoka on Tuesdays via Disney Plus.
